At 8am once my 2 year old son is at the nursery and my 1 month old baby is sleeping I take a good 30 mins to 45mins in the bath room to shower, put a mask on both my hair and my face, then I do my skincare routine which consist of several steps and I finish by a light makeup. I enjoy taking care of my skin, my hair and my face at the moment because I am far from being comfortable in my body at the moment and for a little while, so this is a way for me to still feel good.
Dress more consciously, think about what you buy. Be curious. I won’t lie and say I don’t buy fast fashion because I still do ( have a soft spot for Zara) but I have tremendously cut down. Try and pick natural and organic fibres as much as possible and buy clothes that you really love. A no brainer is to give up single use plastic or at least reduce it. Reduce your energy consumption by doing simple changes at home like switching off the lights when you leave a room. My husband recently replaced all lightbulbs with low energy LED lights in our home.
SLEEP and a lymphatic drainage massage once a week.
I have a smoothie every morning, it’s an excellent way to keep your energy levels up and get in tons of great nutrition in one go. It is also great if you are breastfeeding as it can increase your milk supply. My favourites are a super green smoothie and a blueberry lactation smoothie.
I have a snack in the tv room and watch the new season of Marvellous Mrs Maisel.
I would say trying to pick the smarter choice for the environment. One step at a time, one part of your life at a time. For a year now, I tend to rent outfits for special occasions rather than buy a dress that I will end up wearing once or twice. My skincare products, I now only buy products that either are made out of recycled material or products that can be refilled.
